California Clergy Abuse Lawyers
Jeff Anderson & Associates + Anthony De Marco — Southern California Clergy Abuse Attorneys
Our Reputation Speaks for Itself
The reputation of Jeff Anderson & Associates as the nation’s premier law firm to represent victims of childhood sexual abuse was earned by teaming with local attorneys to represent thousands of victims of childhood sexual abuse in cases against individual offenders and the institutions that harbor them. Engaging with attorneys who share our mission to exhaust every imaginable resource in order to serve our clients' needs has led us to be successful in filing claims against hundreds of religious institutions and priests in the Southern California area.
We Don’t Just Handle Clients, We Empower Survivors
We have represented thousands of victims of childhood sexual abuse in cases against individual offenders and the institutions that harbor them. We are engaged with a national network of attorneys who share our mission, and when we take a case, we exhaust every imaginable resource in order to serve our clients' needs.
Reaching Across Time and the Nation for Justice
An estimated 39 million survivors of childhood sexual abuse exist in the United States today. One in four girls and one in six boys experience some form of sexual abuse before the age of 18, and one in five children will be solicited sexually on the internet.
In most cases, childhood sexual abuse goes unreported or victims break silence many years after the abuse occurs. While there are many legal barriers to prosecuting those responsible for abuse, our firm has worked to overcome these barriers for more than 25 years. As pioneers of child protection through civil litigation, we are aggressively committed to this cause and capable of handling the most complex legal problems in courts across the United States. To begin your journey of healing and justice call us today and we will provide you with a free and private consultation. And be assured, if you decide to file a claim your privacy will be respected and your identity can remain confidential throughout the entire process.
Jeff Anderson & Associates Southern California Team
Jeff Anderson - California Clergy Abuse Attorney
Jeff Anderson, who has represented dozens of clergy abuse survivors in California, is widely recognized as a pioneer clergy abuse attorney and a champion of survivors of childhood sexual abuse. In nearly four decades as a litigator Jeff has represented thousands of clients and has tried over two hundred and fifty jury trials to verdict. Known for his optimism, energy and compassion for clients, Jeff is credited with being instrumental in exposing the large scale cover-up of pedophile priests in the early 1980's. As one of the first trial lawyers in America to publicly and aggressively initiate lawsuits against sexual predators—and the institutions that conceal and protect them—Jeff’s efforts have obtained justice for thousands of survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
His actions have resulted in numerous punitive damage verdicts that not only help bring victims to a path of healing, but also serve to punish and deter the institutions and leaders who protect abusers. An indicator of the great impact Jeff’s work has had in the effort to seek justice for children who have been sexually abused is the number of national and international media outlets that have featured his work. Just in the last year Jeff’s work has resulted in major stories on CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, BBC, and Italian Public Television. In addition Jeff has been featured in articles and profiles in the New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, St. Paul Pioneer Press, Minneapolis Star Tribune, People Magazine, the ABA Journal and numerous other publications.
Anderson's tireless efforts extend beyond the courtroom where he is a frequent lecturer, survivor advocate and author who argues for legislative and judicial protection of children and the prevention of childhood sexual abuse.
While Jeff has received many awards and recognitions, he was most honored, in 2009, to receive the National Crime Victim Bar Association’s Frank Carrington Champion of Civil Justice Award for his extraordinary efforts to pursue justice for victims of crime through civil litigation.

Anthony De Marco - California Clergy Abuse Attorney
Having successfully helped more than 400 Southern California survivors of childhood sexual abuse recover financially, Anthony De Marco knows how important it is to help survivors understand and cope with the effects of the abuse, find the truth about their abusers and hold those who covered up for the abusers accountable.
Born and raised in the Los Angeles area, Mr. De Marco has a close relationship with its communities and people. He graduated from California State University at Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism in 1992 and earned his Juris Doctorate at Loyola Law School, in Los Angeles in 1996.
In representing survivors from Southern California communities, Mr. De Marco has personally interviewed and counseled hundreds of child and adult survivors of clergy sexual abuse, as well as abuse by other authority figures. He understands the tragedy of clergy abuse and the difficulty of confronting pedophile priests, archbishops, bishops, and other high ranking officials who have harmed children.
While much of Mr. De Marco’s work has involved Catholic clergy, he has also successfully filed cases of child sexual abuse against Los Angeles Unified School District, the Seventh Day Adventists, the Lutheran Church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and The International Four Square Church.
Breaking the Wall of Secrecy
During his career Mr. De Marco has always emphasized the importance of helping to protect other children from abuse by working tirelessly to expose the secrets of abusers and the institutions that have helped to cover-up abuse.
In all cases, Mr. De Marco seeks to break through the secrecy by obtaining documents held in secret and forcing abusers and those who enabled them to answer for their actions. In 2010, De Marco secured the release and publication of more than 10,000 pages of confidential personnel files of pedophile priests from the Roman Catholic Bishops of San Diego and San Bernardino and continues to work on making public the secret files of pedophile priests maintained by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, as well as the Bishops of San Diego, San Bernardino and the many Catholic religious orders.
If you or a family member were sexually abuse as a child, feel free to call or email Mr. De Marco for a private and confidential consultation. And be assured, we have helped hundreds of survivors and will always respect a survivor's wish to keep their identity private and information confidential.
